Jewish Federation of Philadelphia

The Jewish Federation is the largest and most effective Jewish network in the greater Philadelphia region. Since 1901, the Jewish Federation has strived to connect all members of its community and help them thrive through vital educational, social and cultural services.

Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy (“Barrack”) is a college-preparatory Jewish day school for students in grades 6 through 12 from all levels of Jewish observance and life and offers a dual curriculum of college preparatory Jewish and general studies. Founded in 1946 as Akiba Hebrew Academy, Barrack is the oldest pluralistic Jewish secondary day school in North America and currently has 358 enrolled students.

The Jewish Federation of Philadelphia used a $26,619,600 CECFA bond issue to refinance prior CECFA bonds that financed construction of the Jewish Federation headquarters and for construction and renovation of the 35-acre Schwartz campus, which houses the Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy.
